After recently watching Netflix’s Self Made: Inspired by Madame C.J. Walker, I thanked God for how far [Black] women have come. Since the days Sarah Breedlove, a daughter to former slaves, amassed millionaire status, Black women have created products that now populate shelves in Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods, and opened businesses that serve communities around the world.
As we all become increasingly aware of the toll humans are taking on the planet, interest in becoming more environmentally friendly has gone way up. And, it’s becoming easier and easier to do your part.
The current health care crisis appears to be grinding the world to a halt. So, if the intense pressure of working remotely, homeschooling and maintaining a shred of self-care is starting to take a toll, know you are not alone.
Recycling is defined as the collection,
breakdown and reuse of items that are thrown away in order to turn them into new products.
In America, in 15 million tons of waste was recycled. That number rose in 2012 to 87 million tons, accounting for 34.5% of all U.S. waste.
